About Marks (Zyda) Alexander
Hebrew name: Menachem ben Alexander ha Levi
Marks is believed to have been born in Prussia. No entry of naturalisation could be found in his name in the UK.
In the Index of Transactions of the Jewish Historical Society of England (volume 25, page15) there is a footnote reference to Marks Alexander, an immigrant from Prussia, who was involved in supervising the koshering of the meat for the community (apparently of Newcastle-on-Tyne).
He was believed to have been a Rabbi but no evidence of this was found.
