Martha Baloyi (1960 - 2023)

Brief overview:

Martha (63), and her son, Junior (43), were attacked on their smallholding in Haakdoornboom, North of Pretoria on 20th March 2023 by two armed perpetrators. The armed men fired shots through the kitchen window when Junior heard noises and went to investigate. They then broke down the door to the house. Martha was fatally shot and found by the police in the passageway of her home. Junior who was wounded managed to lock himself in the bedroom and call for help. He was transferred to hospital.
