Intelligencer Journal, Saturday, March 29, 1941, p. 2: Mrs. Christian M. Groff Mrs. Martha Groff, sixty-one, wife of Christian M. Groff, died at 2:30 p. m. Friday at her home in New Danville. She suffered a paralytic stroke at her home Thursday night. She was a daughter of the late David and Martha Nagle Shaub and a member of the Mennonite church. Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Florence, wife of Clarence Moore, Strasburg township; and these step-children: Columbus C. Groff, New York; Mrs Mary Keperling, Washington Boro R. D. 1; Chester A. Groff, Sterling, Ill.; Mrs. Elizabeth K. Huber, Bareville; Ira C. Groff, New Danville; and Mrs. Gladys Zimmerman, Mount Joy. A brother, Rolandus Shaub, also survives.
