Daughter of William Thomas & Martha (Wyatt) Prater Martha was the wife of George Layne married abt. 1795 in Amherst County Virginia

George & Martha "Patsey" (Prater) Layne, members of Blue Springs Baptist Church of Christ in 1822, were originally buried in Blue Springs Cemetery. In the late 1940s or early 1950s George & Martha's grandson from California had Highs Funeral Home move them from Blue Springs Cemetery in Viola to the Viola Cemetery.
