About Martha M. WIndham (Ainsworth)

NOTE FROM DESCENDANT DEBBIE GAMBRELL: I just discovered a tree on Ancestry with this Martha confused with Martha Jane "Park" McNeil (Ainsworth), connecting her as the wife of this Martha's husband James Madison Windham. That is an incorrect connection. Please do not perpetuate that! The Martha married to James Madison was a sister of Sampson Ainsworth and she did not marry John McNeil. The Martha who married John McNeil was Sampson's daughter. This Martha is buried in the Mt. Nebo cemetery in Smith County where James Madison Windham is also buried. I'm posting a photo of the gravestone of John McNeil and his wife Martha under the Media tab so everyone can see the difference in dates and the fact there are two different sets of graves and names.

Per Howard Ainsworth: In 1870, James Madison Windham and Martha M. Ainsworth Windham lived only a few houses away from Sampson Jefferson Ainsworth (her brother)

Was told there is a census with Martha in Thomas’ household. Trying to find a copy.
