Some of the names in this list are repeated because of 1st cousin marriages. Martha "Aunt Patsy" Hudspeth Gilmer was the daughter of Ayres Hudspeth and his 2nd wife Mary Greenwood. (Mary had been married previously to Isaac Street) For more information on Aunt Patsy - check out the book "Ann Was Her Name : A Pioneer Teacher in Texas" It give a very vivid detail of Aunt Patsy. Ann Thompson of whom the book is about recounts her life living with Aunt Patsy. Ann was orphaned by the time she was 3 or 4, her mother Emily Allen Gilmer Thompson died in route to Texas and was buried in the Red River after having come down with Cholera.
