About Martha Jane Robison
With the death of Mrs. Martha Robison, who died on Friday morning of last week, Fillmore has lost one her oldest residents. Born in Michigan, the daughter of Lyman Olmstead and Sarah Cummings Olmstead on December 16, 1840, she married Joseph Viceroy Robison on March 29, 1858, and in the same year accompanied her husband with relatives and friends, across the plains to Utah settling in Fillmore. Of this union the surviving children are: Joseph Lyman of Salt Lake; Alvin Vicker and Mrs. Ada Hinckley of Provo; Almon Quincey, Proctor Hancock and Mrs. Edith Anderson of Fillmore; and Albert of Monroe. The funeral services were held in the L.D.S. Chapel at Fillmore on Sunday, the speakers being Christian Anderson of Fillmore and George Crane of Kanosh, both of whom spoke of the sterling qualities of the deceased, who, although an invalid for a number of years, never released her faith in the Gospel.
