About Marthinus Wessels Jacobs
Marthinus "Tienie" Jacobs (1945 - 2009)
Brief overview:
Tienie (65), was brutally murdered on a small holding at Boschkop, east of Pretoria, on 24 November 2009.
The bodies of Tienie and his gardener, were found packed under boxes and pillows, in the morning about 12 to 18 hours after their death. Jacobs and his gardener, whose identity and age have not yet been determined, are both suspected to have been strangled.
"I can't believe that they have to tie up an old man like a dog," said William Thomas Wiggill (60), after seeing his brother's body. Wiggill, his wife, Winnie (58), and daughter, Letitia Coetzer (36), from Cullinan had rushed through in the morning when they got the news.
They came across his body and that of the gardener, who had been working for Jacobs for about a year, in the carport next to the aviary. Jacobs was lying behind a Chevrolet car. His hands and feet were tied and his neck with a piece of wire was tied to a trailer. His watch was still on his arm. The gardener's body, which lay next to Jacobs, was covered with boxes and pillows. His hands and feet were also tied with wire.
