Martha Chestnut, 74, of Rushville dies

BEARDSTOWN -

Martha Chestnut, 74, of Rushville died late Thursday, Aug. 23, 1990, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

She was born Feb. 8, 1918, in Cass County, the daughter of George Henry and Lillian Belle Johnson. She married George F. Chestnut Sr. in 1936, in Knoxville. He died on Aug. 31. 1983.

She is survived by four sons,

1. Ronnie of Quincy,
2. Bill of Rushville
3. Dewey, of Rushville,
4. and Howard of the state of Oklahoma;
5. one daughter, Helen Atwood of Rushville;

one sister, Alberta Vander of Versailles; 27 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sons, George Jr., and Martin.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Cline Funeral Home in Beardstown with burial at Beardstown City Cemetery. Visitation will be held 7-8:30 p.m. Sunday.
