Martin J Anderson

Martin, J. Anderson, 65, of Hawarden died Monday, August 18, 1997 at Marian Health Center in Sioux City, Iowa, following a short illness.

Mr. Anderson was born January 4, 1932 at Hawarden, the son of Martin and Elizabeth (DeVries) Rise. He was adopted by Emil Anderson when he was 11 years old.

Martin married Bette Strong November 18, 1980 at Las Vegas, Nevada. They made their home in Hawarden where he was a truck driver. He drove for Kaskie Brothers prior to his retirement in 1994.

He was a member of the Hawarden Eagles Club and the Hawarden Golf Club.

Survivors include his mother, Elizabeth Anderson of Hawarden; wife, Bette Anderson of Hawarden; sons, Eric, Christopher, and Jeremy all of Hawarden, Terry of Fairbanks, Alaska and Rick and wife Jeanette of West Jordan, Utah; step-son, Jaimie Strong and wife Christine of Pleasant Dale, Nebraska; daughters, Marla Eliason and Kim Cordes and her husband Keith of Fairbanks, Alaska and Jo Bentley and husband Rod of Cedar City, Utah; sister, Lois Meether and her husband Duane of Hawarden; 10 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his fathers, Martin Rise and Emil Anderson; and a grandson, Nathan Anderson.
