About Martin Hauser

Martin Hauser was born in 1696 in Reichenweier, Alsace, and married Margaretha Schaefer (b. 1702) of Lampertsloch in Woerth Lutheran church in 1722. They immigrated in 1727 on the Molly with their infant son, who died on the voyage. Settling initially in PA, then MD, they moved to NC in 1753. Martin died in 1761, Margaretha in 1775. (From F. Martin Hauser married Maria Margaretha Schafer in 1722, Lampersloch, France at the Worth Lutheran Church.
Martin was the first to immigrate to the United States. He was an established carpenter as he paid for his, his wife's, and son's voyage across the Atlantic aboard the Molly. They landed September 30, 1727. He was NOT indentured, and came to the USA a free man. His son passed away on the ship.
Martin arrived in the USA and made his first home in Pennsylvania with the Menonites. Martin was Lutheran, but his connection to the Menonites was through his mother in law. After she passed away he obtained a warrant for 2000 acres of land in the Maryland Territory. Later in 1753 he followed his son to North Carolina.
European records of Woerth Lutheran KB lists': Martin Hausser, single apprentice carpenter, son of the late Hans Gerg Hausser, former butcher at Reichenweyer m. 3 Feb 1722 Margaretha, daughter of Hans Nicol Schafer, former citizen at Lampertsloch. Parents: Johann George Hauser and Susanna Burckhart.
