Obituary: St Cloud Times, St Cloud, Minnesota
22 March 1950
Albany -- Funeral services were held at Seven Dolors church in Albany, Thursday at 10 a.m. for Martin Jesh a resident of Albany.
Rev. Cyprian Seitz, OSB, officiated at the solemn requiem mass, assisted by Rev. Hubert Dahlheimer, OSB, and Rev. P. Marion, OSB, St. Joseph.
M. H. Nett, N. G. Lenarz, A. H. Krebs, A. A. Dinndorf, George Thelen and Robert Sperl served as the active pallbearers, and J. C. Schwinghammer, Jacob Gilk, Michael Lehner, Carl Dinndorf, George Dirkes and Rudolph Bueckers, honorary pallbearers. Crossbearer was Ray N. Jesh.
Burial was in the Seven Dolors cemetery.
Mr. Jesh, 80, died at 2:15 March 13 [1950] at the family home in Albany. He had been ailing since Thanksgiving day.
The deceased was born in Ljublyand, Austria on November 10, 1869. He attended school in Laibach, Austria and came to the United States in 1886 and attended St. John's university.
On June 7, 1898 he was married to Antonia Bier and since that time has resided in the Albany village.
In his early life he worked in mercantile establishments in Albany, was in the restaurant business from 1912-1934 and served as town clerk from 1934-1942. He was a member of the St. Joseph society and Catholic Aid association.
Mrs. Jesh survives with the following sons and daughters: Roman, Othmar, Andrew, Carlos, Ralph and Marian, Albany; Mrs. Edward Falmon, St. Paul; Mrs. Lee Backes, Melrose and Angie, Minneapolis. There are 21 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
A sister, Mrs. Joseph Goard, Ely, also survives.
One child died in infancy and the oldest daughter, Mrs. N. O. Hofmann, on April 5, 1940.
