About Marvin A Rahn
Marvin A. Rahn, 87, of Danforth and a former longtime Chebanse resident died on Tuesday evening, December 6, 2016, at Presence St. Mary’s Hospital in Kankakee following a lengthy illness.
Funeral services for Mr. Rahn will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, December 13th at the Zion Lutheran Church in Chebanse, the Rev. Kene Whybrew will officiate.
Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Chebanse.
Mr. Rahn was born in rural Chebanse on March 28, 1929, the son of Arthur and Edith Peters Rahn, his parents are deceased.
He married Ilene L. Giertz at Chebanse on August 27, 1960 and she preceded him in death on July 8, 1999.
Surviving are one daughter, Marlene Rahn of Frankfort; one son and daughter-in-law, Lee (Kimberly) Rahn of Thawville; four grandchildren, Jennessa, Kaylina, Sawyer and Josiah Rahn; one sister, Lucille Jarka of Bradley; one sister-in-law, Arlene Rahn of Michigan; and one brother-in-law, Delbert Dummer of Bonfield.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Rahn was a lifelong farmer and belonged to Zion Lutheran Church in Chebanse. He enjoyed woodworking and being with friends and family. 13dec2016
