If Marx Marx was 94 when he died in 1923, he was born in 1829.

Article in the magazine "The Israelite" from 28 June 1923: " Baden, 25 June (1923). Marx Marx, who moved to Baden one year ago from his hometown Königheim in order to spend the twilight of his contented life in the home of his daughter, the widow Goldschmidt, has died here at the age of nearly 94 years.

A spry and extremely young-spirited old man, he walked among our ranks, spurring us on with the example of his simple piety, his eagerness for religion, his joy in performance of each Mizvah.

At first he was always in the synagogue; not even wind and bad weather could keep this elderly man from observing all the fast days. A venerable Patriarch, who could look back upon a long life rich in activity and genuine Jewishness, has departed from us.

At the ceremony of the transfer of his body to Königheim, which was carried out on Sunday in accordance with his last request to be buried there, the entire local Jewish community was present, and the non-Jewish population was also strongly represented.

Herr Professor Kaufmann, as well as the Chief Representative of the Community, Mr. Abraham Löb, spoke moving words of farewell and expressed admiration for the departed, whose memory remains unforgettable for us.
