About Mary Alicia Reza

Mary Alice Reza-Sandoval, 68, went to meet Jesus on Thursday, August 6, 2009. She was born in San Benito , Texas on April 19, 1941 to Reyes and Sofie Reza. Mary worked at McDonalds where she never met a stranger. She leaves behind many cherished friends and memories.


She is preceded in death by her parents, and first husband, Keno Selvera Sr.

She is survived by her husband, Willie Sandoval, who always loved her and never left her side. Willie stood by her children during her lengthy illness; sons, Johnny Nixon, Keno Selvera Jr. and his wife Barbie, Phil Selvera and fiancée Carla; daughters, Amy Selvera, Arline Ray and husband Jimmy, all of Texas City, TX; stepdaughter, Anna Selvera of Milwaukee, WI; sisters, Sally and Raymond Lopez, Dolly and Ramie Ramirez, Elizabeth Reza Mann; brother, Ray Reza Jr.; 8 grandchildren, and 6 great grand children; her life- long, best friends, Rosie Luna and Lucy Selvera. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Loya, Dr. Pham, Dr. Elers, Dr. Kim and all the other doctors and staff at Clear Lake Regional Hospital . They would also like to thank Odyssey Hospice House, in the Heights, where she spent her final days. They showed a tremendous amount of love and compassion to her and the family.


A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 10, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Carnes Funeral Home, 3100 Gulf Freeway Texas City, TX. Pastor, Manuel De La Cerda will conduct the services. Mary’s wish was to be cremated; her cremated remains will be buried at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Dickinson, TX.
