Mary Foord born in 1862 at Osmotherley was the daughter of Robert Foord, who was born 1817 in Settrington, Yorks and Jane. Robert Foord was a Farmer of 50 acres. Jane was born in abt. 1825 in Faceby, N. Yorks.

2. Her will (obtained by L.H.B.) states that she left 11 properties in Middlesbrough worth £5544.4.9d
That amount equates to £1,600,000 in 1999 with a 7% compound growth.
3. Her executors were Edward Baker, a plumber. He was of Baker Bros. Plumbing Co. and Robert Myers, an Accountant, both being related to her. The estate was divided between her cousins, Lancelot (of Swainby) and George Barron, (L.H.B's grandfather. Born Apr 6th 1861) also cousins William Alfred Hall, Violet Jane Wagstaff, Margaret Kate Pearson, George Newton, Francis Eades, Mary Jane Robinson,and Mary Martha Harrison. She excluded LHBs father and brother from her will because they both smoked and drank alcohol!
Her house at Southfield Rd Middlesbrough was left to Mary Foord.
Three houses were left to The Durham Street Mission, M'bro The Children's Home Bonner Rd, London, Dr. Barnardos Home Stepney London, and The Women's Auxiliary of the Wesleyan Methodist Society London, and to the Wesleyan Church Linthorpe Rd. Middlesbrough.

Relatives Thomas Baker lived in 135 Albert Rd. Mrs Mary (Nicholson) Baker lived in 131 Albert Rd. They were the Baker Bros. family who owned the large hardware/plumbing store next to where BHS is now.
