He figured somewhat in the history of the Witchcraft delusion at Salem, Mass. (See Appendix C.) He m. 1653, Mary dau, of Richard Dodge, of Berverly, Mass., who was b. 1632, and d. August 18, 1710, aged 78 years.

He was a son of John Batcheler(f), who was b. in Eng., about 1610; came to Salem, Mass., 1635; supposed to have come from Dorchester, Eng.
