About Mary Alloway Bell
Her husband died leaving her with at least one small child, John Bell. Her father John Alloway acted as executor of Samuel Bell's estate, and in his own will states that he has advanced his grandson John Bell his proportion of the money due from Samuel Bell's estate and purchased one slave, Judy, from the estate. John Bell is to provide a discharge for the money his grandfather has given him and to relinquish all claim to the slave, or to receive nothing further from his grandfather's estate.
