Mary Ann Harris was born on August 25, 1800, in Rockingham County, North Carolina. She married Richard Browder on January 19, 1819. They had nine children in 21 years. She died on November 20, 1874, in McNairy County, Tennessee, at the age of 74, and was buried in the second Browder Cemetery.
It is not absolutely proven that she was the daughter of Levin Harris. There is a fairly reasonable argument that she was instead a daughter of Levin's brother, John. However, either scenario comes up short of absolute proof. I remain mostly certain that she was the daughter of Levin Harris and his wife, Elizabeth, mainly because of the land Richard Browder received from levin Harris not long before Levin's death, plus the fact that a descendant was named Levin, an admittedly rare name.
