Heber Matron. 86, Succumbs After Active LDS Career

HEBER, Sept. 15 – Funeral services for Mrs. Mary A. C. Clyde, 88, widow of James W, Clyde, will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in Wasatch stake tabernacle of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mrs. Clyde died Tuesday at 5 p.m. at her home here after a long illness.

Mrs. Clyde was born in Moroni, Sanpete county, May 7, 1862, a daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Davis. Campbell. She had been a resident of Heber since she was a child.

Married in 1881

She was married to Mr. Clyde, prominent livestock man and political worker in the Logan LDS temple Dec. 12, 1884. Mr. Clyde died in 1937.

Mrs. Clyde had served as president of the Heber Third LDS ward Young Women's Mutual Improvement Assn., of which she was a charter member. She was a member of the first choir ever organized in Heber, and was for many years a Relief Society teacher.

Six Children Survive

Surviving are five daughters and a son: Mrs. Nellie C. DeGraff, Heber; Mrs. Nora C, Miller, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Hazel C. Watkins, Provo; Miss Nina Clyde, Ogden; Mrs. Bessie C, Craig, Pocatello, Ida., and Don Clyde, Heber; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in Heber city cemetery; Friends may call at the family home Thursday evening and Friday until time of services.
