It looking at your posting I find you have the wrong surname for the wife of Rev. Giles Chapman. It is close, but it is SUMMERS & not Sommers. Joseph Summers is my direct line & I have done quite a bit of research on the Summers line. I hope you will make a correction on your posting!

I: John SUMMERS, Sr. born November 3, 1695, died January 13, 1760 in Prince Georges' County, Maryland, married Mary MOORE (ca. 1696-June 11, 1796), daughter of James MOORE, Sr.

I.8 Joseph, born Prince Georges' County, Maryland, married 1755, Eleanor CLARY.

[ Joseph SUMMERS, said to be a Quaker preacher, moved from Maryland to Newberry County, South Carolina about 1760 and settled on Bush River. According to his will recorded 1809, he had the following children:

I.81 William died 1816, married Susannah TEAGUE

I.82 John married Susannah WALTERS (sic: she was Susannah WATERS)

I.83 Jesse married Sarah COATE [daughter of "Little" John COATE]

I.84 James died 1826 [married Elizabeth ____________]

I.85 Eleanor married _____________WATERS [Thomas Willoughby Waters]

I.86 Casandra married_________________REGGS [Edmund Riggs Jr.; poss. her 1st cousin]

I.87 Mary married Rev. Giles CHAPMAN

I.88 Ann married _________________WELLS [James]

I.89 Darcus [married Griffen COLEMEN-no issue]
