About Mary Cohan
https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/48200823/Mary-Cohan-Ronkin
Broadway Composer, Lyricist. The daughter of vaudeville and Broadway legend George M. Cohan. She began her career as a cabaret singer and established herself as a Broadway talent in 1930, when she composed the musical score for her father's play "The Tavern." After her father's death she safeguarded his legacy by overseeing adaptations of his works. Professionally, she is best known for her collaboration with John Pascal, Francine Pascal, and Michael Stewart, supervising the musical and lyrical revisions of Cohan's songs for the 1968 Broadway musical "George M!" Trivia note: One of her father's hits, "Mary's a Grand Old Name," was reportedly written for her.
