Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the Silverton United Brethren church for Mrs. Mary J. Digman, aged 75, who died at her Silverton home Sunday afternoon after a long illness. She was the widow of the late C.L. Digman and had been a faithful worker in the Silverton church for many years. Several months ago she was overtaken by illness and death had been expected, according to friends of the family who paid high respects to the life and work of the aged woman in the Silverton community.

Surviving are an adopted daughter, Mrs. Naomi Cox; three sisters, Mrs. James L. Nuzum, of Cambridge, Ohio, Mrs. T.S. Chipps, of Salem and Mrs. Bert Smith of Cherry Hill, Arkansas; and two brothers, F.J. Cayton of Silverton and L.C. Cayton of Harrod, Ohio.

In memory of Mary Josephine Digman, eldest daughter of John A. and Katherine Cayton, was born at Arnold's Creek, Doddridge County, March 13, 1867, and departed this life July 19, 1942, aged 75 years, 4 months and 6 days. She was a member of a family of nine children. She was a school teacher and moved to Jackson County some 22 years ago.
