Mary Halloran Fahey obituary, Ackley World Journal, Jan. 21, 1926, page 1:
Mrs. Thomas Fahey, after an illness that continued through several weeks, passed away at the family home in this city at an early hour Wednesday morning, the result of anemia. Hopes that were held out in the beginning of her illness began to fade some two weeks ago and she continued to fail. Her death brings sorrow not only to the immediate family circle and relatives but to the many residents of Ackley and Osceola township, Franklin County, who have known the Fahey and Halloran families for the past fifty years, and the sympathy of all goes out to those who are called to mourn the passing of one who has been near and dear, a woman of tenderness and worth.
Mrs. Fahey was a daughter of Mr. Michael Halloran, generous hearted, open-handed, early-day residents of the community who were always counted with the best. She was born January 19, 1859, at Genoa, Illinois; her childhood was spent here with her parents, brothers and sisters. Her marriage to Thomas Fahey was a happy one; together they reared a family of splendid children; together they labored and did much for the community’s good. Beside the bereaved husband, she is survived by three sons and three daughters, John, Robert, Floyd; Mrs. S.A. Martin, residing at George, Iowa; Mrs. Jas. Parden, Mason City; Miss Laura, at home, Frank, Edward of Ackley; John at St. Paul; Thomas at Thornton; another brother and a sister.
Funeral services are to be held at St. Mary’s Catholic church, in this city, Friday forenoon at 10 o’clock.
She was a good mother; may she rest in peace.

Mysteriously missing from the above obituary is surviving daughter Margaret Irene Fahey Keninger, 1891-1971. It even says there were three surviving daughters, when in fact there were four. However, Irene IS in another obituary, which follows.
The above obituary also continues straight from surviving children to siblings, with no distinction made. Everyone after "Miss Laura, at home" is a sibling. Surviving siblings besides the four named were Julia Halloran Layden McCauley and Robert Henry Halloran.
The following obituary leaves out son Robert, so both obituaries got her children wrong.

When Mary's mother died, she contested her brother Robert's interest in the estate:
Cedar Rapids Evening Gazette, p 1, April 4 1913, Cedar Rapids IA:
CONTEST HALLORAN ESTATE.
Mason City, Iowa, April 4 — The first of a series of suits which are promised to result before the estate of the late Mrs. Ann Halloran is settled has been filed. Mrs. Halloran Fahey, a daughter of the dead woman, seeks to stop Robert H. Halloran, a son, from claiming any interest in the estate.
Mrs. Halloran left an estate valued at $35,000.
[Note: "Mrs. Halloran Fahey" apparently refers to Mary Halloran, who married Thomas Fahey.]

Ackley World Journal Thursday, October 27, 1921, Ackley, Iowa:
Here From St. Paul, Minn.
Robert and John Halloran of St. Paul, Minn., arrived in the city the first of the week, and are visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Fahey, the latter their sister. The "boys" are sons of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Halloran who are pleasantly recalled by friends who knew them well as pioneer residents of south Franklin county, always cheery, and hospitable.
Robert, John and another brother, Ed, have been at St. Paul several years, the latter a practicing physician, conducts a sanitarium in the city. Friends will also be interested in knowing that Tom, another brother, who was for some time engaged in the drug business in Ackley, lives at Sioux City.
Their stay in Ackley will extend through the week; they will visit at the home of their brother, Frank and Mrs. Halloran, north of Ackley, before returning to St. Paul.

1897 Ackley World, Page5, 1897-10-22 - death of Viola Fahey:
A six months old child of Mr and Mrs. Thomas Fahey died of whooping cough and lung trouble Friday last and was buried from St. Joseph's church, Sunday afternoon. The little one had been the source of happiness in the home; mirthful to the time of its ill-fated illness. The parents feel the sting of death keenly; the place made vacant in the home is one couched in tenderest remembrance.

Review (Rock Rapids, IA), Thu, 29 Aug 1901, p.8
Mrs. Fahey and three children of Ackley are visiting here with Mr. and Mrs. Sam Martin. They will leave for home today, Thursday.
