Mary Ellen Findlay

Mary Ellen (Smith) Findlay (1841 - 1933), daughter of Arthur Sydney Smith (1808 - 1878) and Elizabeth Logue (1813 - 1874), was born 8 March 1841 at Manchester, Lancashire, England; she died at the age of 92 on 6 July 1933 at Lanark, Bear Lake County, Idaho, and was buried at Paris Cemetery, Paris, Bear Lake County, Idaho. She married (1) Hugh Findlay (1822 - 1900), son of James Findlay and Mary McPherson (1797 - 1879), on 5 July 1862 Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah Territory; they had seven children. Five years after Hugh's death in 1900, Mary married (2) William Duncombe Major (1847 - 1925) on 25 July 1905. She emigrated to Utah from England with her parents
