Mary Fuchs

Anna Mary Hagemann was the fourth child of Joseph Joachim Hagemann and Louisa A. (Winkelmann) Hagemann. She was born in the ancestral home (now razed) on Laramie Street, and baptized at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Peoria. She moved west with her family about 1882. Meeting future husband Paul Fuchs in 1886, they were married on 7 January 1888 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Uniontown, WA. Eleven children were born of this union: George (1888-1977), Michael (1890-1972), John P. Fox (1892-1983), Magdalen (Lena) (1894-1974), Gertrude (1896-1918), Joseph (1899-1994), Nicholas (1901-1983), Albert (1904-1984), William (1906-1954) Kathryn (1909-1984), Francis (Teddy) Fuchs (24 March 1911-12 Dec. 1911). Paul & Mary (and family) were engaged in farming for many years in the Uniontown area, retiring about 1915. She died after suffering a paralytic stroke and was buried from St. Boniface Catholic Church, Rev. H.J. Loeffler officiating. Her legacy lived on well after her in the many Fuchs (Fox) offspring. Son John P. Fox, SJ was a very famous Alaskan missionary of the Jesuit order.
