Mary Browne was baptized at Saffron Walden, Essex, England on 27 September 1607, daughter of Godfrey and Elizabeth (More) Browne. She died probably in Massachusetts after 1 August 1668 (husband’s probate).

Her first husband was Miles Oakley (Awkley), married in Saffron Walden on 5 October 1634. Their children were:
Miles Oakley died, likely in Massachusetts, between 8 August 1638 and about 1642.
Mary Browne, widow of Miles Oakley, married 2nd to Robert Garret alias Bouchier by say 1642 (child born at Boston on 2 June 1643). He died between 27 November 1660 (Will) and 1 August 1668 (probate).
His children named in his will:
Unless Robert Garret had an earlier wife called Mary, it does not seem chronologically possible for Capt. Thomas Oakley to be the son of Miles Oakley, III and Mary Garret alias Bouchier.
Edmund Browne, shipmaster, died without issue (2 children died young). However his wife Elizabeth Oakley was a widow with children from a previous marriage. [NO]
