Chatham Daily News Aug 15, 1944 last rites held for Mrs. Guilds Blenheim- Aug 15- Many attended funeral services at Guilds near Blenheim, for Mrs. George A Guild, well known resident of that community, who passed away at the age of 84, after an illness of several weeks. Death occurred at the nursing home of Mrs Del Jenner, near Guilds. The former Miss Mary Helen Reynolds, Mrs. Guild was born New Scotland, in harwich township south, and lived all her life in New Scotland and Guilds. She and her husband occupied a farm on the Guilds Sideroad a short distance north of the hamlet which received its name from the Guild family. Mrs Guild was prominent in the social activities of the communityand in the work of the Guilds United Church. Surviving besides her husband are a son, Earl Guild of LA, Cal. Four sisters: Mrs Frank Guild, of Toronto, Mrs Ada J Halstead of London, Mrs Maude Gemmill of Rondeau Park, and Mrs RJ Stirling of Harwich Township, one brother C Dewart Reynolds of Rondeau Park. The funeral service was held at the Guild home in charge of Rev W R Osbourne of Blenheim, former pastor of the Guilds Untied Chruch. Pallbearers were Neil Taggart, Arlo Patterson, Arthur Wiley, Basil Townsend, Del Jenner,Percy Buckland. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery
