This is the last will and testament of me Mary Catherine Cartwright of Number 24 Atkins Street Bendigo in the State of Victoria Married Woman.
I appoint Farmers and Citizens Trustees Company Bendigo Limited of Charing Cross Bendigo to be and act as Executor of this my Will and Trustee of my estate.
I devise and bequeath all the real and personal estate which shall belong to me at my death unto my said Trustee upon trust to dispose thereof according to the directions hereinafter contained.
I direct that my debts and funeral and testamentary expenses shall be paid out of my real or personal estate as soon as may be possible after my decease.
I direct that my said Trustee shall carry on the trade of business of a Marine Dealer in which I shall be engaged at my death and retain my husband Walter John Cartwright as Manager thereof and to use and employ for that purpose such part of my real and personal estate as it shall deem necessary and in the event of my said husband declining or becoming unable to act as such Manager as aforesaid then my Trustee if it shall think fit may in like manner carry on the same for such period as it shall judge expedient.
I direct that my said Trustee shall permit my said husband to occupy as his residence the dwelling house where I now reside at Number 24 Atkins Street Bendigo aforesaid and to use therein my household furniture and effects linen and china he keeping the said dwelling in repair and paying the expense of insuring the same from loss or damage by fire and also the taxes and other outgoings affecting the same.
I direct that my said Trustee shall permit my said husband to receive from my death the net annual income actually produced by my trust property howsoever constituted or invested including the profits of my trade or business if carried on pursuant to the direction hereinbefore contained.
I direct that subject to the preceding directions my said Trustee shall after the death of my said husband hold my trust property upon trust for such of my children living at my death and such of of the children of any child or children of mine who shall die before me but so that my children shall take in equal shares share and share alike and the child or children of any child of mine who shall die before me shall equally among them the share which the parent of such child or children would have had if such parent had not died before me.

DEATHS CARTWRIGHT - On January 28, 1928, at 126 Bridge Street, Mary Catherine, the dearly beloved wife of Mr. Walter John Cartwright, Marine Dealer, of 24 Atkins Street, North Bendigo, devoted mother of William, Michael, and Kathleen (Mrs. Norman O'Brien); loving sister of Michael, william, and Lawrence Kinsella. R.I.P.
FUNEREAL CARTWRIGHT - The friends of Mr. Walter John Cartwright, marine dealer, of 24 Atkins Street, North Bendigo, are respectfully invited to follow the remains of his dearly beloved wife, MARY CATHERINE, to the Bendigo Cemetery. The funeral will leave from the residence of her son-in-law Mr. Norman O'Brien, 126 Bridge Street, This day (Monday), the 20th just., at 9.30 o'clock. FIZELLE and MULQUEEN, Funeral Directors. OBITUARY CARTWRIGHT - Regret was expressed when it was announced that Mrs. Mary Catherine Cartwright, wife of Mr. Walter John Cartwright, marine dealer, 24 Atkins Street, North Bendigo, had passed away. Deceased was loved and respected by all who knew her. She was born in Dublin, Ireland, and came to Victoria with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Michael Kinsella, when only six months of age. Much sympathy is felt for her husband and family of one daughter and two sons in the sad loss of a loving wife and mother. The funeral took place to the Bendigo Cemetery. The polished kauri coffin was carried to the grave by Messrs. W. Cartwright, M. Cartwright (sons), M. Kinsella and W. Kinsella (brothers). Many floral tributes were received. Rev. Father O'Sullivan read the service, and the funeral arrangements were in the hands of Messrs. Fizelle and Mulqueen.
