Meath, E by Kilkenny and Queen's county, S by Tipperary, and W by Galway; 43 . long and 39 broad, containing 707 square miles. More than 1/3 of the county is occupied by bogs and mountains; the soil of the arable lands is very fertile, and consists either of a deep moor, or a shallow gravely loam. Principal rivers, the Shannon, Little Brosna, and Greater Brosna. It sends 2 members to parliament. Pop. 132,319. Chief town, Phillip's town." <p></p> <p>According to Mary's Death Certificate she had been in NSW for 21 years giving her an arrival date of 1836. It would appear that her son John was born in NSW. <p></p> <p>Buried Row 19 Plot 8 Gunning Catholic Cemetery, Collector Road, Gunning, New SouthWales <p>Inscription reads: James Smith, husband of Elizabeth Smith, died 13.8.1876 aged 47, and Mary Skelly, mother of Elizabeth Smith, died 3.4.1857 aged 55 <p></p> <p>Mary Brown Skelly also arrived in 1835 in the first Bounty ship The Canton; she arrived before her husband but the Canton was placed in quarantine for approx 11 days
