of possible further interest on the topic of the American Revolution: Mary Lyon (van Beuren) had a uncle, Dr. James van Beuren of Bergen Co. who was a Loyalist Refugee sent to NS. In a list of Bergen Loyalist Refugees we see both James and a man named Thomas Lyon. Perhaps this Thomas Lyon is Mary's brother-in-law?
