Major Joseph Croshaw married five time. The named of his (1)wife, who, by 1646, was mother of at least five children is unknown. He married (2) Mrs. Finch, (3) by 1661, Mrs. Anne Hodges, who died July 1663, (4) Mrs. Margaret Tucker, who died 30September 1664 and (5)Mrs. Mary Bromfield, who survived him and married Clement Marsh. Issue by wife #1 was Mary, Unity, Rachel, Benjamin, Joseph and by wife #5 Joseph II (April 1667-8 August 1682) Born less than a month before his father's death was devised the bulk of his estate with reversion to the Wests if he died childless. This occurred and the Croshaw land passed into West ownership.
