Biography

Mary Weed was born on 05 September 1653 in Salisbury, Essex, (then) Massachusetts Bay Colony, the daughter of John and Deborah (Winsley) Weed. [1]

Mary married John Martyn/Martin about 1677.[2][3]

On 30 September 1697, John Martin and Mary his wife were named in the estate settlement of John Weed, in which they received 30 acres of land at Fox Island adjoining their dwelling house: one fourth part of Brandy Brow lot, one fourth part of Brandy Brow meadow in Amesbury and £11 in stock and moveables. Mary Martin signed the document with her mark.[4]

John died in Amesbury on 06 October 1693. Widow Mary was assigned as the administratrix of his estate. The estate of John Martin was inventoried 11 Dec 1693, which included land at Brandy Brow, on which it states:[5]

"John Martin of ye Town of Amisbury who dececed ye sixth of October: 1693: as it was given in to us by Mary Martin relicqe of ye dececed."
