MRS. MARY CHRISTINE STEVENS

Mrs. Mary Christine Stevens, 54, of Biloxi, died Sunday at Howard Memorial Hospital in Biloxi following a lengthy illness.

A native of Simpson County, she was a member of Temple Baptist Church and an employee of Keesler Air Force Base.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday from Mims Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. O.C. Ladnier officiating. Mims Mitchell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements and burial was in Magee Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Neil B. Stevens of Biloxi; two sons, Stanley Parish of Saucier, and David W. Cates of Biloxi; four brothers, Rev. B.T. Bishop of McComb, A.B. Bishop of Wesson, Earl B. Layton of Richton, and L.P. Bishop of Biloxi; five sisters, Mrs. Lillie Mayfield and Mrs. Pheba Ponder, both of Magee, Mrs. Bessie Long of Jackson, Mrs. Eva Dilmore of Mt. Olive, and Mrs. Lula M. Bush of Carthage; and three grandchildren.

Clipped from Simpson County News, Mendenhall, Mississippi, 26 Apr 1979, Thu • Page 3

Relative told me that her date of death is actually April 22, 1979, not 1975. The headstone was carved incorrectly and their carvers wouldn't correct it. SSDi confirms year.
