About Mary Pierce

Mary (Hix or Hicks) Pierce was born 24 August 1755, probably in Rhode Island. She married Daniel Pierce (the son of Capt. Mial Pierce and Patience Martin) on 13 October 1773 in Rehoboth, Bristol, Massachusetts. She died 22 December 1852 in Delavan, Walworth, Wisconsin and is buried in East Delavan Union Cemetery.

The parents of Mary Hix/Hicks are Elizabeth Gibbs and William Hicks because of facts regarding William Hicks. William Hicks' father John Hicks named children of William Hicks in his will because William had died at that point, including a child of William named Mary. William Hicks had a son John who named his child Jeremiah Comstock Hicks most likely after Jeremiah Comstock, who was the husband of Patience, the eldest child of Mary (Hicks/Hix) Pierce and Daniel Pierce. .[See "Hicks (Hix) Families of Rehoboth and Swansea" by Harriet Woodbury Hodge in1976.]

Children of Daniel Pierce and Mary Hix are:

Patience, Isaac, Mial, Charlotte, Huldah, Jedediah "Dyer," Truman , Mary "Polly," Daniel H., Clarissa.

Theresia is not a child of Mary Hix and Daniel Pierce.
