The entry in the book for Jonathan Rolph says:
"Jonathan Rolph (4.64), son of Moses Rolph (3.33), was bpt. 30 August 1714 at Woodbridge, N.J. He married _____ (her first name was possibly Hester as a Phebe Rolph, dau. of Hester, was bpt. 21 June 1767 at St. Johns Church, Elizabeth, N.J. (as recorded in the Genealogical Magazine of New Jersey, Vol. 3, page 121). Jonathan and his family probably lived in or near Perth Amboy, N.J. as it was from there that their children parted when the post-Revolution migration started.
"Their children: Their sons Ephraim, Moses and Jonathan used the surname spelling of Rolph and Rolfe. Their descendants used only Rolfe."
