About Mary Josephine Sandry

Wedding described in an article of Friday 17 January 1947 in the "National Advocate":

SANDRY— KENNEDY SS. Michael and John's Cathedral was the scene of a pretty wedding recently, the contracting parties being Mary Josephine, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. Kennedy, of 'Rose Green,' Peel, to Leslie Norman, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. N. J. Sandry, of Mitre Street, Bathurst. The bride entered the church on the arm of her brother, Ned. She wore a satin gown beaded in silver and pearl on the shoulder and the train. Her embroidered tulle veil was held in place by a coronet of orange blossoms and she carried a sheaf of gladioli and frangipanni. Nellie Kennedy, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid. She wore a mauve net over blue taffeta. She carried a shower bouquet of pink gladloli and frangipanni. Mr. Ray Lloyd, brother in law of the bridegroom, was best man. The wedding ceremony was performed by the Rev. Sullivan. The reception was held at the Chelsea where the guests were received by Mrs. Kennedy, mother of the bride, wearing a wine colored frock with black accessories; and Mrs. Sandry, mother of the bridegroom wearing a blue frock with black accessories. For the bride's travelling frock she wore royal blue with white accessories. Later Mr. and Mrs. Sandry left for Queanbeyan and Canberra. The future home of Mr. and Mrs. Sandry will be in Bathurst."
