About Mary Sim
Doctor Patrick Sim (d. 1740) was implicated in the Scottish rebellion of 1715. When Dr. Sim fled Scotland, his estate "Kilcairn" was confiscated. When he came to America he settled in Prince George's County, Maryland. In 1718, Patrick Sim married Mary Brooke (daughter of Thomas Brooke (1659-1730) and Barbara Dent (1676-1754) of Brookfield Manor, Prince George's County, Maryland. Mary (Brooke) Sim died in 1758 at the age of 53. Her will, dated February 16, 1758, and proved March 31, 1758, named her children: Joseph, Walter, Barbara, and Christiana.
