1 - William, who died before his father, married Mary Sinclair [Note], daughter of Lord Sinclair, and had issue :
- 1. Sir James, who succeeded his grandfather.
- 2. William of Quarreltoun, who obtained from his father the lands of Quarreltoun, Paisley parish, in 1583.
- 3. James, died May 18, 1644.
- 4. Jean, married to her cousin, John Schaw of Greenock in 1565.
- 5. Andro went to Ireland. Durie, in his Decisions, mentions him as living in 1626
