Mary Thompson, wife of Rev James Thompson, was born Oct 9, 1794 She was born in Bladen Co, NC.

She came with her husband, Rev James Thompson, when he moved to Alabama. They had 2 sons that were born prior to move: Robert and Benjamin Davis Thompson. They also had Joseph Lock [born in Monroe Co, AL], Ann Catherine m to Langham, Margaret Jane m to Rev McBryde, Mary Frances m Thomas Hall.

Mary Locke Thompson's father was William S Locke of Bladen Co, NC.

In the book, A History of Methodism in Alabama by Anson West her husband Rev. James Thompson was married twice. His first wife, Mary Locke Thompson, the mother of all his children, six in number, and a good woman and true, died in 1835, and was buried at Society Hill.
