The following information was provided to me by Helen A. Lehman.

Mary is daughter of John Hart (1748-1790) and Catherine Knowles Hart (1749-1842) of Philadelphia. She was born 14 January 1771 in Hopewell, Mercer County, New Jersey. Her grandfather is the "Honorable John Hart" (signer of the Declaration of Independence for the state of New Jersey)

She married Jacob Vandergrift 29 December 1791 in Frankford, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.

Jacob Vandergrift was born 25 Sept 1766 in Oxford Township, Frankford, Bucks, Pennsylvania. He died in Pittsburgh though I do not have the exact date of his death

They had 12 children (I do not have all the facts on the children but you may be able to find them in the records there in Pittsburgh)

• Sarah B Vandergrift (I do not have her Find A Grave record) she was born 1801 in Philadelphia and died 2 February 1888 in Pittsburgh: married Jacob ‘Kolp' (also spelled Colebaugh) he was born 27 Oct 1811 in Philadelphia and died 5 Oct 1837 in Allegheny County, Pa. According to the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Church and town records they married 19 March 1826 in Philadelphia. On this marriage record his last name is spelled Colebough.
