From research of David L Sadler: Oneida Daily Dispatch--Mary Ann Ward Died May 18 1943 OBIT: Mrs Mary Ann Ward, 76, Widow of Central Hotel Owner for Yrs, Is Dead: Mrs Mary Ann Ward, 76, widow of Hiram Ward, d early today at her home in Sconondoa following long illness. Mrs Ward b Dec 6 1866 in Morrisville, but had spent most of her life in this city. Husband d in 1919. For many yrs Wards conducted Central Hotel in Farrier Av. Later they operated gen'l rooming & boarding house until his death. For past 9 yrs Mrs Ward had been family cook at Madison Co Home, Eaton. Surviving are 2 sis, Mrs Nettie Chappell, Sconondoa; & Mrs Arthur G Kennedy (sic), Oneida; & bro Arthur J Butler, Oneida, besides several nieces & nephews. Rites will be Fri afternoon at 2 in Campbell Funeral Home by Rev Walter K Kuhne, pastor of St Pauls Evangelical Church. Buriel will be in Glenwood Cem.
