About Mary Jeanette Webster

From Find-a-Grave" Mary Jeanette Webster was the daughter of Col. Thornton Fleming Brodhead (1820-1862) and Archange Macomb (1818-1891). Col. Brodhead led the 1st Michigan Cavalry during the Civil war and died of wounds following the Battle of the Second Bull Run on Sept. 2, 1862. Archange Macomb was the daughter of John William Macomb (1782-1826), a prominent Michigan land owner, and Mary Jane Godet dit Marentette dit Francheville (1795–1852). Mary Jane drowned while aboard the Atlantic when it collided with the Ogdensburg on Lake Erie on 20 Aug. 1852. Mary Jeanette had five siblings: Josephine Archange Brodhead (1850–1936), John Thornton Brodhead (1851–1904), Eleanor Macomb Brodhead (1855–1947), Katherine Julia Brodhead (1857–1934) and Elizabeth Brodhead (1859–1938). She married Jonathan Kearsley Webster (1857–1916) on Oct. 24, 1883. The couple had two children, John Brodhead Webster (1886–1886) and Madeliene Heyerman Brodhead Webster (1892–1909).
