Mary Sophronia Fisher, dau. of Rev. Orceneth Fisher and Elizabeth Key Watts, was b. July 4,1827 in Franklin County, Illinois; married with the REV. ROBERT BARNARD WELLS, b. 1809. They lived in Brenham, Texas where she was a teacher. According to sources, her diary contains many interesting stories of life in the early days of Coryell County, Texas. They later rem. to Gatesville, Texas. She d. Mar. 27,1909 in Gatesville, Texas and is buried at Gatesville City Cemetery there.

Children were: Mary Elizabeth (1845-1924), Mason Virginia Annie (1854-1884), and Electa Florence (1863-1865).
