About Mary Isabelle Wilson
Daughter of James and Jane (McNall) Farrar. Wife of James Henry Wilson
Nancy is buried next to her son James Farrar Wilson. In the same plot are her grandson, Dio McGinnis, and her great-great granddaughter, Karen Felton. Bella died from Kidney failure.
Notes from her great-granddaughter: Isabelle Farrar Wilson, did have a fiery temper because one Sunday morning one of the little boys was really rebelling at having to be dressed up to go to church. He carried on. From the springhouse, which was up by the house, it ran down into a little rivulet that ran down to a watering trough for the animals and crossed the lane and then went down into Brush Run at the foot of the property along the dirt road. So, Isabelle grabbed this little boy who wouldn't stop fighting and screaming and dunked him in the watering trough. Which must have been a nice chilly little bath! I don't know if she took him to church or not all soaking wet or what happened.
Isabel was the only child of her family not to attend Westminster College when James Farrar sold the farm and moved to New Wilmington so his children could live at home and attend college. The most successful brother, James, was the well-known minister in New York City. Isabel taught her in-laws and neighbors to read and write. In her later years, Isabelle became somewhat of a germophobic. Rarely venturing outside, she had her groceries delivered to her home for fear of catching something and getting ill.
Isabelle and James had two other children: John Mayhew Wilson (1872-1917, murdered, cemetery unknown) and Nancy Henrietta Orr Wilson (1877-1962, wife of Dio Sebastian McGinnis.
