About Mathias Rohr
Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock Mathias Rohr of Munjor, was killed by an extra freight from the east, on the Chestnut Street crossing. Mr. Rohr was going north driving a single horse and a buggy without top. He did not see the train coming and there was no watchman there to stop him. Mr. Rohr lived only a few minutes after he was struck by the train. The mangled body was carried to the depot and later to Havemann's undertaking parlors. Two years ago Mr. Rohr went to Russia and brought a wife back with him. Since then they have lived in the town of Munjor. He as about 70 years of age.
