Mrs Mathilda Lux of Grove Twp Dies at 80
Mrs Mathilda Lux, 80, died at the home of her son-In -law and daughter, Mr. & Mrs William Emmerich of Grove township, abut 4 o'clock Thursday afternoon.
Funeral services were held at 9 o'clock Monday morning, May 28, in the St Joseph Catholic Church at Island Grove with Reverand Father George Nell officiating. Burial was in St Joseph's Cemetery with the Parker funeral home in charge.
Mrs Lux was born September 11, 1870, in Grove Township, the daughter of Catherine and Martin Lustig. She was married to Michael Lux who died May 23, 1924. He was a well known farmer in Grove township and an extensive land owner. Mrs Lux was the last pioneer member of the St Joseph parish.
Surviving, in addition to the daughter, are two brothers, Bill Lustig, a twin brother residing north of Wheeler and Jacob Lustig of Terre Haute; three grandchildren, Mrs Jack (Jewell) Bauman and Mrs Robert (Coleta) Worcester of Newton and Pvt Donald W Emmerich of Camp Attenberry, Ind; and two great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were two sisters, Mrs Rose Grace and Mrs Clara Jansen, and two brothers, Martin and Joe Lustig.
