Matilda Dinah Porter was the daughter of Mary Ann (Bradley) and Joel Porter. She married Aretas Henryson Armstrong and they had 7 children, William, Guy, Joel, Mary, John, Laura and Adelia.
Obituary: Newspaper unknown. DIED. Armstrong.---At her home in the town of Trenton, on Tuesday, May 3d, 1892, Mathilda, wife of Aretus H. Armstrong, aged 76 years, 6 months and 20 days.
The deceased was born in Ulysses, Seneca County, New York, October 17th, 1815, and removed to Wisconsin with her husband in 1848, settling on the place where she died. She received a stroke of apoplexy about three years ago and had another stroke a week previous to her death. She was a highly respected resident of Trenton, and was greatly beloved by her many acquaintances. She leaves a husband, three sons, Wallace, Guy and John, and one daughter, Mrs. C. E. Smith, of Randolph, to mourn her loss. Her funeral was held from her late home last Thursday. Inscription: Our Mother Born Oct. 17, 1815 Died May 3, 1892 On same stone as Aretas H. Armstrong
