Matthaus Freundlich

Rebecca had an arranged marriage to Matthaus Freundlich which was arranged by the early Moravian Missionaries. They were married on May 4th 1738. Rebecca and Matthaus were imprisoned for their faith and the way they were preaching to the slaves. They had one child – a daughter, Anna Maria,who died in Germany at the age of four. They had travelled to Germany because of the ill health of Matthaus but he died on the journey across Germany.
