"Matthew Cleghorn, born 1711, son of John Cleghorn, min. of Wemyss; licen. by Presb. of Kirkcaldy 17th March 1737; ord. to Rousay 16th September 1747; trans. to St Andrew's, Orkney, 18th August 1752; pres. by George III 7th September 1764; adm. 18th July 1765; died 17th June 1781. He married:

1) 1726 (name unknown)

2) 1749, Euphemia (died at Edinburgh, 27th October 1809, aged 83), daughter of Robert Graham, great-grandson of Bishop Graham of Orkney, and had issue:

  • John, born 14th November 1749
  • Euphemia, born 15th February 1751 (married Bryce Little, min. of Covington)
  • Janet, born 15th July 1752, died 24th May 1770
